Novo-pharm Aromasin – Exemestane General Description
Exemestane is a steroid drug used in postmenopausal women to treat breast tumors. Due to reduced levels of estrogen in the body, the drug slows the growth of cancer cells, thus contributing to tumor dispersion. Exemestane completely blocks the production of aromatase enzyme and estrogen, which is why women of childbearing age are not recommended to use it.
Exemestane was first used in bodybuilding because of its ability to restore the endocrine profile quickly, normalize the production of testosterone and minimize potent anabolic-androgenic side effects.
The drug is now commonly referred to as "Aromasin". Exemestane is an inhibitor of antiestrogen and aromatase. Common alternative drugs include Letrozole and Anastrozole, but they are somewhat more expensive, so most athletes usually choose Exemestane.
The drug is the most effective blocker – research has shown that due to irreversible binding of active hormone enzymes, it can inhibit the production of estrogen by 85 percent. The use of the drug results in increased amounts of FSH and LH in the blood and a decrease in the amount of estrogen in the hypophyseal gland which stimulates gonadotropin development.
In its structure, it is close to the androstenedione hormone. Exemestane does not produce progestogenic or estrogenic activity, therefore, even at high dosages it does not affect the production of aldosterone and cortisol in the adrenal glands. In large single dosages, it also does not cause intoxication.
Exemestane is quickly absorbed into the blood, the peak active component concentration is reached 1.5-3 hours after administration. The medicine binds 90 percent to blood plasma and protein. It is metabolized in the liver and creates metabolites. The drug is excreted after a full day of administration as metabolites by urine and faeces and does not cause excessive strain on the kidneys.
Novo-pharm Aromasin – Exemestane Benefits
Exemestane is popular among bodybuilders and powerlifters who use anabolic-androgenic steroids for mass growth when it comes to sports. The drug's beneficial effects include:
• Prevention of gynecomastia.
• Suppression of the female estrogen hormone production in the body.
• Increased anabolic activity.
• Improved body definition
• Prevention of hypertension.
• Reduced negative estrogen-related effects on the hypophyseal portal system.
• Healthier appetite.
• Restored blood pressure.
• Restored endocrine profile.
During steroid cycles and PCT, bodybuilders use exemestane to avoid aromatization and restore the production of testosterone that is necessary for male health.
It is advised that women only use the medication as prescribed by the doctor and never before menopause. This is because the drug blocks women's estrogen hormone production, which negatively affects a woman's reproductive function and endocrine profile.
Exemestane is considered a mild substance, so if sufficient dosages are followed, it will not affect the body. This acts as a natural antitumor and allows athletes to use active anabolic androgenic steroids that produce strong aromatization without any side effects. Depending on the type of steroid used, the drug is administered before beginning or during PCT. Exemestane also prevents blood clots from developing, facilitates blood vessel dilation and increases flow of blood.
Novo-pharm Aromasin – Exemestane Possible Side Effects
Exemestane rarely results in adverse reactions when used properly, but excess dosages can lead to depression, reduced libido, Increased bad cholesterol levels, joint pains, nausea, flashes, clotting, dryness of the mucous membrane in the genitourinary area, brittle bones. Various bodily systems may also be affected digestion: constipation, diarrhea, decreased appetite, nervous system: migraine, drowsiness, dizziness, paresthesia, insomnia, cardiac and vascular systems: increased blood pressure.
Drug users are advised to reduce the dose immediately or to avoid the use completely in case of side effects.
Novo-pharm Aromasin – Exemestane Administration and Dosages
The maximum Exemestane dose is three days a week at 12.5-25 mg. Using the drug at a minimum dosage of 12.5 mg is safer. However, if the athlete shows disrupted cholesterol levels, the dose will be increased to 25 mg. Exemestane is administered 1-2 weeks before the use of anabolic androgenic steroids, facilitating better definition of the body and reducing side effects associated with steroids. After eating, the medication is used while drinking plenty of water.
The dosages of Exemestane can differ depending on the type of anabolic androgenic steroid used: if the athlete uses AAS with short half-lives (methandrostenol and testosterone propionates), then Exemestane is taken every other day at 12.5 mg with proper testing of estradiol levels each 10 days. Based on the test results, the dose is then changed.
When using long ester steroids (cypionate, enanthate, Sustanon), these tests should be performed every 4 weeks. Exemestane is used at the minimum dosage every other day, which is adjusted to the test results.
Some athletes prefer to use the drug during PCT for faster recovery of the production of testosterone – in such cases the drug is used after a steroid cycle starting with the next day.
To improve the definition of gained muscle mass, which is important for bodybuilders, the drug can be used ten days before a competition. Doping tests do not detect Exemestane if its use was completely stopped a day before the test (at the very least).
Exemestane should be kept in a dry space for no more than two years after manufacture at a temperature of 15 to 30 degrees
