Novo-pharm Femara – Letrozole General Description

Letrozole is one of the most active inhibitors of aromatase which suppresses the blood concentration of estrogens. The drug, however, is not part of the steroid drug group. It's very common in medicine and sports.

The medication is used in treatment of women with breast cancer following menopause. The basic principle of effect of the drug has made it popular in sports – aromatase inhibitors are used by athletes because negative side effects can occur during the administration of laboratory-synthesized testosterone in the form of anabolic steroids in heavy aromatization cases.

Estradiol serves as the primary female sex hormone and can be developed by testicles in small concentrations. Using hormonal anabolic drugs can lead to hormonal imbalances and increased body estradiol secretion. Letrozole blocks aromatase enzymes that stimulate the development of estradiol.

One of Letrozole's main advantages is its excellent tolerance by the body, so almost any competitor can use it in sports. Athletes who have been diagnosed with severe liver dysfunction should be given special treatment. In that case, before using an aromatase blocker, it is advised to consult a specialist. During a cycle, people with specific intolerances to the active agent need to be vigilant and monitor allergic reactions. The medication is also not recommended for female athletes because of the risk of hormonal imbalances.

During an anabolic-androgenic steroid cycle, Novo-pharm Letrozole should be used to avoid side effects and to counteract the signs that already occur. The drug is used once every two days at 0.5 mg of the active agent (1/5 of a tablet) as a preventive measure. When there have already been signs of aromatization, then 2.5 mg of the aromatase blocker (a whole tablet) should be taken daily until the symptoms disappear, after which patients should use preventive doses. Letrozole doses can vary depending on the athlete's health – if the erectile function or depression is affected, the dose may be decreased.

Checking for estradiol levels about 10 days after the end of the short ester drug cycle is important. When a steroid with intermittent activity is used during the cycle, the tests are done 3-4 weeks after the cycle begins with the application of the drug's therapeutic doses. The tests must be carried out again after 10 days.

Novo-pharm Femara – Letrozole Combined Cycles

Letrozole is used for one week (with possible extension to 13 days) at 2.5 mg daily during post-cycle therapy. Therefore, the daily dose is decreased to 0.5 mg between days 14-21. During post-cycle therapy, normal hormonal levels are restored, muscle mass is preserved, signs of regression to the female form are prevented in male users, preventive measures against oligospermia and testicular atrophy are taken, and the risks of steroid-related adverse reactions are reduced.

During a steroid cycle, it is recommended to use Letrozole with drugs that are prone to high aromatization, e.g. different testosterone esters, methandrostenolone and others. Athletes may determine the time to begin the use of the aromatase inhibitor subjectively, when the first aromatization symptoms (swelling of the nipples, redness, itching) first occur while using the correct dosage. It is safer to use antiestrogens for PCT because they show more effective results for restoring the body after a cycle of steroids.
